End OF The Road For Burton
Burton Albion’s FA Cup dreams finally came to an end last night at Old Trafford where they lost 5-0 to Manchester United.
Despite the scoreline Nigel Clough, Burton’s manager was upbeat and positive about the whole experience.
“We’ve had a fantastic day,” he said. “The experience that the lads will take away from this will stand them in good stead in the future.”
“They have got memories for the rest of their lives now.”
United’s boss Sir Alex Ferguson praised Burton’s approach to the game.
“We’ve had European teams and Premiership teams come here and never show that kind of positive attitude,” he said.
United ran out easy winners with goals from Saha (2), Rossi, Richardson and Giggs, and now face Wolves in the next round.
