Man Utd Through To Face Wigan
Mancester United booked their place to play Wigan in the Carling Cup final after overcoming Blackburn.
United went 1-0 up when Ruud Van Nistelrooy scored but Blackburn equalised through Steven Reid.
Brad Friedel saved a Van Nistelrooy penalty but could do nothing when Saha fired in a volley from Rooney’s cross to make it 2-1 to United.
The match was marred by a half time tunnel incident between the two sets of players with Robbie Savage and Rio Ferdinand the main culprits.
“It started because Rio clipped Robbie Savage as they were leaving the pitch - I don’t know why, ” said Blackburn’s manager Mark Hughes.
Savage pursued Ferdinand down the tunnel and was follwed by most of their team mates, coaches and stewards.
There was no TV evidence but the FA is set to launch an investigation into the incident.
