Britain’s Luckiest Betting Shop!
A betting shop in Liverpool has been called the luckiest in Britain when a punter won £500,000 on the horses - less than a year after winning £150,000.
His huge payout came just six months after another racing fan won nearly £800,000 in the same shop!
Management at Ladbrokes in Alerton Road said last week’s winner staked £3,200 on a complex five-horse accumulator last Thursday.
The horses - Finzi, Passenger Omar, Shadow Jumper, OK Pal and Chicken Soup - won at odds of 9/2, 11/4, 7/2, 4/1 and 100/30. He backed ten £100 each-way trebles, five each-way four-timers and a £100 each-way accumulator which returned a massive £533,316.
Ladbrokes supervisor Vicki Spicer said: “We didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.”
“He had a big win last year but nothing to match this. When the final horse trotted in we all said ‘ here we go again’.”
Last July 37 year-old Ian Carswell won £796,706 by combining six selections in a series of two bets, a Lucky 63 and an each-way accumulator.
Ladbrokes spokesman Robin Hutchison said: “This shop must be the luckiest shop in Britain for the punters, but the unlukiest one for us.”
