Henman Out Of Top 50
Tim Henman has dropped to 56 in the latest world rankings following his second round defeat in Indian Wells.
As a result he could miss out on a place in the main draw at the spring Masters Series events in Rome and Monte Carlo, with qualifying his only option.
The 31-year-old remains ranked behind fellow Btits Andy Murry, who is 41st, and Greg Rusedski at 48.
“It’s not something that’s going to make me panic,” he said on his website.
“I know if I stay healthy there will come a stage where it’s going to start turning around.”
Henmam added: “What I need to do is make a breakthrough in one of the Masters Series events and then make the most of it afterwards.”
“I enjoy playing here in the States and I think conditions in Miami can suit my game.”
At the top of the rankings, American James Blake breaks into the top 10 for the first time.
He has moved up to 9th from 14th after winning two titles already this season and reaching the Indian Wells final.
