Nadal Out Of Nasdaq
Spain’s Carlos Moya battled back from a set down to knock out his fellow countryman, world number two Rafael Nadal in a shock 2-6 6-1 6-1 win at the Nasdaq-100 Open in Miami.
Moya took just one hour and 45 minutes to overcome the 19-year-old, who saved two match points before he lost his serve for the fifth time.
Moya, 29, now faces Agustin Calleri who beat France’s Gael Monfils 7-5 6-4.
Nadal’s exit came on the back of news that Andre Agassi had pulled out of the event with a chronic back problem.
Lucky loser Bjorn Phau replaces Agassi and plays Rochus.
Meanwhile, third seed David Nalbandian of Argentina beat American Paul Goldstein 3-6 7-5 7-6 -in the second round.
