Sharapova Through To Semis
Maria Sharopova beat fellow russian Anastasia Myskina 6-3 6-3 to reach the last four of the Nasdaq-100 Open.
The in-form Sharapova, seeded fourth, will face Moscow-born French star Tatiana Golovin in the semis.
Sharapova, 18, has reached the semi-finals of her last five events and has a 2-0 career record against the 22nd seed Golovin.
“I played a clean match,” Sharapova said. “I made a lot of errors in my first two matches and knew I had to be patient since she gets a lot of balls back.”
“I look forward to improving in the semis and will hope for the best.”
