Wednesday’s Racing

Today’s racing comes from Goodwood, Kempton Park and Kelso in the afternoon and Folkestone and Sedgefield in the evening.

Goodwood had just a light shower overnight leaving the ground good to soft with soft patches.

The racing starts at 2:10 with the most valuable contest at 3:45

Alfie Noakes ran better than his finishing position suggested at Chester last time will have improved for the run.

Amanda Perrett’s horses have been in good form and run particularly well at this track.

Kempton’s polytrack is standard despite 2mm of rain.

Alessandria has been working well on the Newmarket gallops and is favoured over the Jeremy Noseda-trained Park Esteem.

Racing starts at 2:20. Kelso’s jumping card starts at 2:30 and the ground good with good-to-soft places following 3mm of rain.

Irish trainer Tony Martin always does well with his runners there and he runs a fascinating horse in Ichi Beau in the 4:10.

Formerly a very talented horse for Ferdy Murphy, he has not been in top form recently but has conditions in his favour.

The trainer is a dab hand at finding winning opportunities for older horses and it would be no surprise to see him back to winning ways.

Folkestone has an all hunter chase programme that begins at 6:05.

The ground is good which will be ideal for Hot Plunge in the 7:05.

It is Miss Durham night at Sedgefield where racing starts at 6:15.

The ground is soft with heavy places but that should not stop Westmeath Flyer in the 6:45, who looks head and shoulders above his rivals.
