Today’s Racing
Today’s meetings are at Musselburgh (2.30), Wolverhampton (2.15), Windsor (6.40) and Chepstow (6.50).
Champion jockey Jamie Spencer is the star attraction at Wolverhampton where the going on the polytrack is standard.
Spencer has winning opportunities aboard Iced Diamond in the 2.45 and Campanile in the 4.45, but my bet here would be Charley’s Aunt in the 3.15.
Musselburgh has a seven-race card and the ground is good to firm with firm places.
Coconut Moon in the 4.00 only found Parkside Pursuit too good at Warwick on Sunday and looks set for quick compensation. David Allan’s mount has everything in her favour but she ran yesterday and that may have taken too much out of her so look to Rothesay Dancer instead.
Chepstow’s ground remains good to firm although with rain forecast that could ease.
As reluctant as I am to put up short priced horse Jihaaz looks a foregone conclusion in the maiden at 8.20.
The ground at Windsor is currently good to firm but is likely to soften after rain overnight and during the day.
Sarah’s Art in the 7.40 looks the best bet of the day.
Chris Catlin’s mount has been running really well recently and has not been out of the first three in her last seven runs.
She goes particuarly well at Brighton but this track should not hold any fears. The only worry is the prospect of soft ground as all her winning has been done on a fast surface.
