Today’s Racing
Today’s race meetings are at Newcastle (2.20), Lingfield (2.00), Salisbury (2.10), Leicester (6.45) and Hamilton (7.00).
It is the first day of Newcastle’s three-day Northumberland Plate meeting and the ground is good to firm and good in places.
In the opening race Charlie Tipple could be the one to be on. He made a good impression on his debut last time out and is a likely improver.
Salisbury’s ground is good with good to firm places and, to ensure that gets no faster, 3mm of water will be put on the last six furlongs in the morning.
In the 3.40 Night Prospector will have to do better than of late, and he is carrying top wieght, but he can get back to form if Ryan Moore can keep him honest.
It is standard on the polytrack at Lingfield where in the 2.30 George The Second comes here in great form and will love the surface.
In the 5.00 the James Fanshawe-Jamie Spencer combination should have another winner with Dance A Daydream.
The going at Leicester is good to firm and in the 8.15 it’s hard to get away from odds on favourite Days Of My Life.
Hamiliton’s ground is also good to firm. Anna Pavlova will be a strong favourite and will take all the beating and she won’t have minded the overnight rain.
