Practise Delayed

Practise rounds for the Ryder Cup are being delayed because of the weather. The area at the K Club in Ireland is suffering from high winds and this has caused difficulties for the players.European Ryder Cup Team Captain, Ian Woosnam, has opted to put Spain’s Sergio Garcia and Jose Maria Olazabal together in a pairing which may provide a few surprises as these two players are not known to be friends. In fact, Woosnam has seemed to put players together from the same country, maybe hoping that the extra support that they will be able to offer each other could bring added benefits. Lee Westwood has been paired with Darren Clarke, while Ireland’s Paul McGinley has been paired with Padraig Harrington. The stage seems set for an interesting tournament, with maybe Tiger Woods having a return to his sparkling and winning form for the American team.
